Britney fan

Poor Britney. As a fan of Britney's since she came onto the scene, my heart aches for her. I root for her in every so-called "comeback," hoping that this time it will stick. Somehow, and maybe this is just the optimist in me, I think this time it is.

Watching the documentary about her on MTV, Britney Spears: For the Record, Britney has never been so honest. Compared to past recent "honest" interviews, Britney shows a new articulation in speaking, using a better vocabulary, showing more composure while interviewed, garnering our respect for her, not as an artist but as a person.

This whole documentary seemed like a call for a normal life. The saddest part, in fact the only time she teared up, was when she talked about how it feels like no one talks to her and wants to listen to what she has to say. People usually have other motives when they talk to her or just listen to what she says because she is famous. This makes her feel lonely, like she can't trust 99% of the people in the world. She wishes to go to the grocery store with her babies, take a walk with a friend, or go to get ice cream at a special place. She can't do any of those things. Britney's life is unlike anyone else's. She even likened it to jail - she said that even when you're in jail, you know when you will be out. How devastating.

I hope nothing terrible happens to Britney. There has been so much tragedy already in her young life, and in a way, she lives with tragedy every day in that she has no freedom to live a normal life.

I hope someday Britney gets what she wants and is happy.
